The Complete Tool Dictionary

Annotation is the core of the editor, but it's not only annotation — selecting, viewing, cropping and arranging are what make editing complete. The interactive editor above is the main stage; to see every tool at once, expand the index below.

Alchemy Recipes

VAS breaks its tools down into small pieces. Each one does a single thing — but properties can stack.

  • Text × background color → Highlighter
  • Text × transparent + border → Outlined text
  • Rectangle × dashed + thickness → Reviewer's red circle
  • Line × right-angle + dashed → Flow connector
  • Fill × gradient + low opacity → Fade mask
  • Callout bubble × mosaic → Comic-style meme

The recipes you combine become your own vocabulary of expression.

Tauri onlyCustom Styles · Save your recipes

A recipe doesn't have to live in just this one screenshot. The moment you dial in the perfect one — tuck it into your cabinet, and next time a single right-click brings it back.

  • Add — right-click a tuned annotation and choose "Add as custom style". One click saves it, auto-named "Style X". It doesn't interrupt your flow; you can decide what to call it later.
  • Apply — right-click any existing annotation on the canvas to apply a saved style directly.
  • Replace — the other way around: tune the current annotation on the canvas until you're happy, then overwrite a saved style directly. This is how you change a style's contents — no separate editor, just tune and replace, letting your recipes evolve with you.
  • Edit — in the Custom Style dropdown choose "Edit styles", which keeps only rename and delete, to tidy your cabinet.
